At Wind, we believe that finance must serve a higher purpose. Since our founding, we have championed the idea that investment in deeptech can combine both performance and impact. With our first fund, we supported pioneering companies like Cosma and Aldoria, proving that innovation can shape a more resilient and sustainable future.
Today, a crucial truth is clear: without technological sovereignty, there is no resilience, no competitiveness, and no lasting impact.
Strengthening European Strategic Autonomy
The war in Ukraine, energy instability, and rising global protectionism have highlighted Europe’s vulnerabilities: delays in defense and a heavy dependence on non-European suppliers. In response, France and the EU have launched major programs such as Readiness 2030 (€800B) and France 2030 (€54B) to reinforce European technological sovereignty and competitiveness.
Technologies Souveraines is Wind’s contribution: the first European sovereign technologies fund dedicated to defense and strategic autonomy. Accessible from €7,500, it also offers a 27% income tax reduction for investments made before December 31, 2025, thanks to a new fiscal incentive under the 2025 Finance Law.
Investing in Europe’s Strategic Deeptech
The fund will finance breakthrough technologies essential for Europe’s independence and competitiveness in the global race. Two strategic axes define our investment approach:
- Technological Independence: artificial intelligence, quantum computing, new materials, semiconductors, and space technologies.
- Defense Superiority: cybersecurity, space surveillance, autonomous drones, GPS-free navigation, quantum sensors, and critical infrastructure protection.
As Anatole Maizières, Partner at Technologies Souveraines, states:
“Technological sovereignty is now a strategic priority for Europe. With this fund, we aim to foster a resilient European deeptech ecosystem capable of meeting the century’s greatest challenges.”
Backed by Wind’s Proven Track Record
Founded in 2015 by entrepreneurs Thierry Vandewalle and Xavier Gury, Wind Capital has become a reference in deeptech investment. From their first fund—supporting 90+ startups with 32 successful exits and a performance above 3.5x—to their €130M Article 9 climate resilience fund, Wind has consistently backed technologies shaping Europe’s future.
With Technologies Souveraines, Wind strengthens its mission: supporting entrepreneurs in defense, AI, cybersecurity, semiconductors, and space to build a more sovereign, innovative, and competitive Europe.
A Unique Investment Opportunity
While institutional investors are increasing their commitments to defense, Technologies Souveraines makes this strategic investment opportunity accessible to individuals—combining financial performance with impact. It’s a unique way to actively contribute to European sovereignty while giving purpose to one’s capital.
